About Us

Ratanui Medical has been a group practice in Henderson for over 35 years with a long history of commitment to provide medical care to the community. The practice moved from Ratanui Street to Lincoln Road in 1989 to be in a purpose built building. The four principal doctors are Dr Clive Stone, Dr John Caldwell, Dr Chris Wong and Dr Joanna Lang working with GP registrars and a team of nurses and administration staff.

  • Dr Clive Stone
Clive is the senior partner of the practice having been committed to his patients for over 30 years and influential in the political medical landscape of heath care in the West. He has been known to enjoy the odd glass of wine over a meal.
  • Dr John Caldwell
John can now enjoy looking after his patients without the pressure of looking after rest home patients. He sets an example to his patients by exercising regularly on his 18-speed bicycle.
  • Dr Chris Wong
Chris is a professional teaching fellow with the University of Auckland and teaches medical students. Rather than delivering babies he now performs vasectomies.
  • Dr Joanna Lang
Joanna is originally trained in Poland and has an interest in woman and child health. She is fluent in Polish and likes the performance arts.
  • Dr Jonathan Chambers
Jonathon grew up in Christchurch, trained in Dunedin and since graduating in 2005 has been working in the Auckland region (he still supports the Crusaders). He has an interest in all facets of medicine and minor procedures.
  • Dr Hollie Shine
Hollie has her doctor's degree from Otago University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynecology from Auckland University after attending Waitakere Primary and Massey High. She has returned to West Auckland and enjoys snowboarding, biking and tramping in the Waitakere Ranges.
  • Dr Cassie Granek
Cassie is originally from Australia and has now made West Auckland her home. She is interested in travel medicine, Maori and Pacific Island health, and has worked in the past with the indigenous cultures of Australia and East Timor.
